Surviving Hitler: A Boy in the Nazi Death Camps
ISBN: 9780060007676
Publication Date: 09/17/2002
This book follows the story of a 12-year-old young boy named
Jack Mandelbaum who was in a Nazi Concentration camp. It
follows his journey from being separated from his family to a
never-ending nightmare and no food. Jack survives and tells his story.
Even though this is a very touchy subject for some people
because of religion it really goes through the exact experiences
kid goes through while being in a concentration camp. I took a
holocaust class in high school and I feel like if we read books like
this it would’ve made the clothes so much more interesting. I really
like this book.
I would give this a 5 out of 5.
I see it won a Seibert medal for informational text. I use this award as a test for high-quality. Everything I have read that has won the Seibert I have personally enjoyed reading. I will have to add this book to my reading list. Thank you for the recommendation.
